Online Counselling Sessions

A typical Equinnect online counselling session is conducted via Zoom, which allows face-to-face interaction and the opportunity to read each other’s facial expressions, body language, and voice expressions or silence, fostering meaningful connection. Equinnect counselling is both a process and a goal-orientated approach to change, with your readiness and willingness to collaborate essential to your healing and achieving desired results.

Each session lasts 50 minutes. You are encouraged to join from a private, quiet, and comfortable location with a secure internet connection, avoiding public Wi-Fi to protect your confidentiality. You are welcome to have your favourite non-alcoholic beverage, pillows, blankets, or other items that bring peace to your session to facilitate your feeling of safety and comfort.

In the first session, we will introduce ourselves, and I will outline how Equinnect counselling works, including measures to safeguard your privacy in this online space. We will then explore your situation/health condition, goals, and the changes you are seeking in your life. If you have had therapy before, we’ll explore what you found helpful - and not. You will leave this session having taken the first steps towards your improved well-being with some strategies to explore and support you in addressing your issue or health concern until your next session.

Subsequent sessions evolve from the foundation set in the first, recognising that new experiences or insights often arise between sessions. At each session, you are invited to share your views and feedback, what you have noticed since the last session, and what is working for you - and what is not to create the desired change in your life. Each session concludes with a summary of key points and planning for the next steps.
