Counselling in Nature Sessions

50 minutes

You will be asked to complete and submit an intake form and a consent form before your first session. This is part of routine counselling care to ensure you understand and have a copy of your rights and responsibilities related to the counselling process.

The first session - often referred to as an intake session - will be online. This is an opportunity to get to know Tanya and for Tanya to get to know your concerns, where you are struggling or not satisfied in life, and what your goals are. We will go through the practical aspects of a counselling session, privacy and confidentiality, and what to expect for your counselling in nature sessions. We will then organise your first in-nature session, including the meeting place and time at Zia Park Equestrian Centre.

If you want to involve a horse in your counselling sessions, your first in-nature session will be with a horse, where you will learn basic training on safely being on the ground with a horse and horse communication. Many of these skills also apply to enhancing your self-awareness, creating a calm nervous system, and establishing safe boundaries with others (humans).
